massive splenomegaly

Abnormal enlargement of spleen , often more than 21 cm may cause pain in Lt side of abdomen with hypersplenism .
Surgery in these patient could be challenging as they large dilated vessals in the region of hilum.
However in expert hands these could be managed with minimum complications.
